Southern Utah University is a public university in Cedar City, Utah, United States, founded in 1897 as a normal school. It offers more than 140 undergraduate and 19 graduate programs through six colleges, and more than 15,000 students attend the university. Its 17 NCAA Division I athletic teams are known as the Thunderbirds, and the university joined the Western Athletic Conference in July 2022.
