Founded in 1871 and opened in 1875, Smith College is a private liberal arts women's college in Northampton, Massachusetts, United States. A member of the historic Seven Sisters and Five College Consortium, it has an open curriculum and was the first historically women's college to offer an undergraduate engineering degree.
