Saint Louis University is a private Jesuit research university in St. Louis, Missouri, founded in 1818 by Louis William Valentine DuBourg. It is the oldest university west of the Mississippi River and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The university maintains a campus in Madrid, Spain, and its athletic teams compete in NCAA Division I in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
