Peru State College is a public institution in Peru, Nebraska, founded by members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1865 and opened the following year as Mount Vernon Academy. It is Nebraska's first and oldest institution of higher education and comprises three schools offering different majors, including a graduate program, along with extensive online education.
