Middlebury College is a private liberal arts college in Middlebury, Vermont, founded in 1800 by Congregationalists. It was the first operating college or university in Vermont. The college offers undergraduate majors in the arts and humanities, joint engineering programs, graduate schools, language and English programs, international studies, and schools-abroad programs.
