Florida A&M University is a public historically Black land-grant university in Tallahassee, Florida, founded in 1887. It is the only public historically Black university in Florida and belongs to the State University System of Florida. The university offers baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees, and its Rattlers compete in NCAA Division I as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
