Calvin University is a private Christian university in Grand Rapids, Michigan, founded in 1876. It is affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church and follows the Reformed, or Calvinist, tradition. The institution was known as Calvin College for most of its history and was named for the 16th-century Protestant Reformer John Calvin.
