The State University of New York at Albany is a public research university in Albany, New York, founded in 1844. It is one of four university centers in the State University of New York system and offers undergraduate and graduate programs through nine schools and colleges. The university also includes a health sciences campus in neighboring Rensselaer and hosts the New York State Writers Institute.
