Adelphi University is a private university in Garden City, New York, whose origins date to the 1863 founding of Adelphi Academy; Adelphi College was established in 1893. It also has centers in Downtown Brooklyn, the Hudson Valley, and Suffolk County, as well as a virtual online campus, and had about 7,386 undergraduate and graduate students as of 2026. The institution operated as a women's college from 1912 to 1946.
