University of Wrocław

The University of Wrocław is a public research university in Wrocław, Poland, established in 1701 and reconstituted in its current form in 1945. It is the largest higher-education institution in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and has had more than 100,000 graduates since 1945, including researchers who have received major awards for contributions to scientific scholarship. The university was restored after wartime damage by academics primarily from the Jan Kazimierz University of Lwów and is a direct successor to the former German University of Breslau.
