University College Cork

University College Cork (UCC) is a constituent university of the National University of Ireland located in Cork, Ireland. Founded in 1845 as one of three Queen's Colleges, it later became University College, Cork, under the Irish Universities Act 1908 and retains that name in common usage despite subsequent official renamings. UCC was named Irish University of the Year by The Sunday Times five times, most recently in 2017, and was the highest-performing university in the 2015 U-Multirank assessment, receiving 21 of 28 possible top scores; it also became the first university to achieve the ISO 50001 energy-management standard in 2011.
