The University of Liège (ULiège) is a public research university of the French Community of Belgium, founded in 1817 and based in Liège, Belgium. Its official language is French, and since the 1970s its main campus has been on Sart-Tilman hill, about ten kilometers south of the city, while it retains historic headquarters and administrative offices in central Liège. The university also has facilities elsewhere in Liège Province and abroad, including oceanographic, weather, scientific, and astronomical stations and observatories.
