University of León

The University of León is a public university based in León, Spain, with an additional campus in Ponferrada. Although its origins trace to educational institutions established in the 19th century, it was officially founded in 1979 after separating from the University of Oviedo. The university offers a range of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs and has developed collaboration agreements with the University of Washington and the University of Xiangtan, the latter contributing to the creation of a Confucius Institute in León.
