The University of Kent is a university in Kent, England, with its principal campus in Canterbury. Founded by royal charter in 1965, it was independent until 2026, when it merged with the University of Greenwich to form the London and South East University Group; it now operates as an academic division of that group while continuing to teach, recruit students, and award degrees under the University of Kent name. It also has a campus in Medway and a postgraduate centre in Paris, and its alumni include Nobel laureates Kazuo Ishiguro and Abdulrazak Gurnah.
