The University of Szeged is a public research university in Szeged, Hungary. Originating as the Jesuit Academy of Kolozsvár in 1581, it was re-established as a university in 1872 and relocated to Szeged in 1921. The current institution was formed in 2000 and includes twelve faculties and nineteen doctoral schools, as well as a teaching hospital and laboratory schools.
