Luleå University of Technology is a public research university in Norrbotten County, Sweden, with campuses in Luleå, Kiruna, Skellefteå, and Piteå. Founded in 1971 as Luleå University College, it later merged with Luleå’s Teacher's Training College and Piteå’s School of Music. The institution received full university status in 1997 and adopted its current name.
